Summary
Paul writes to his younger co-worker Timothy, whom he left in Ephesus to correct false teaching. He reminds Timothy of the gospel of grace: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
Paul gives instructions about prayer and worship, the qualifications of overseers and deacons, caring for widows, and the dangers of loving money. He encourages Timothy, though young, to set an example in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, and to "fight the good fight of the faith."
