Summary

Paul writes again to the Thessalonian church, which was facing persecution and confusion about the day of the Lord. He encourages them that God is just and will reward their endurance.

Paul corrects the idea that the day of the Lord had already come, explaining events that must happen first. He also rebukes those who had stopped working, perhaps expecting the end to come soon, and urges everyone to live responsibly and never tire of doing good.
