Summary
The Song of Songs is a collection of love poems in which a bride and groom delight in each other. Through vivid imagery of gardens, vineyards and spring, it celebrates romantic love, longing and union within a committed relationship.
Its climax declares that "love is as strong as death." Jewish and Christian readers have also seen in it a picture of the love between God and his people, or between Christ and the church.

Start reading Song of SongsPlace me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.
