Summary
Matthew presents Jesus as the Son of David and the fulfilment of Israel's Scriptures, frequently noting how events happened "to fulfil what was said through the prophet." It begins with Jesus' genealogy and birth.
Matthew gathers Jesus' teaching into five great discourses, including the Sermon on the Mount, alongside his miracles and growing conflict with the religious leaders. After his death and resurrection, Jesus sends his disciples with the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations, promising to be with them always.
