Summary

Acts continues Luke's Gospel. After Jesus ascends, the Holy Spirit comes at Pentecost, and the apostles boldly proclaim the risen Christ. The young church in Jerusalem grows rapidly despite persecution.

The gospel then spreads to Samaria and to Gentiles, and the persecutor Saul is transformed into the apostle Paul. Paul's missionary journeys plant churches across the Roman world, and the book ends with him in Rome, proclaiming the kingdom of God "with all boldness and without hindrance."
