Summary
1 Chronicles retells Israel's history for the community that returned from exile. It opens with long genealogies tracing the people from Adam to the returned exiles, showing that they still belong to God's story.
The second half focuses on David's reign, especially his devotion to worship: bringing the ark to Jerusalem, organizing the priests and musicians, and preparing for the temple his son Solomon would build. It reassures God's people that his promises to David still stand.
