Summary
Paul writes to the church he founded in Corinth, a gifted but troubled congregation. He addresses divisions, sexual immorality, lawsuits, questions about marriage, food offered to idols, and disorder in worship.
Throughout, Paul points the church back to the cross, to the unity of the body of Christ, and to love as the greatest gift โ described in the famous "love chapter." He concludes with a powerful defence of the resurrection, the foundation of Christian hope.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
