8私たちは四方八方から苦しめられ、圧迫されますが、押しつぶされ、打ちのめされることはありません。「どうしてこんなことが」と途方にくれることがあっても、行きづまることはありません。 9迫害されますが、神に見捨てられることはありません。打ち倒されても、また立ち上がって、前進を続けます。 10この体は、かつてのイエス様がそうであったように、いつも死に直面しています。ですから、私たちを安全に守ってくださる方は、私たちのうちに生きておられるイエスだけであることが明らかになるのです。 11まことに私たちは、主に仕えているために、絶えず死の危険にさらされています。しかし、そのことでかえって、死ぬべき私たちの体によって、イエス・キリストのいのちを明らかに示す機会が与えられているのです。
